Cara and Zack first met through a mutual friend and connected because of their workplace. Fast forward to this fall when they tied the knot at the most beautiful wedding. Cara and Zack are absolutely STUNNING and such a vibe. It was an honor to capture their Michigan wedding photos!
How They Met
Zack and Cara met through their mutual friend Abby — who ended up being one of Cara’s bridesmaids! Cara had known Abby since high school and Zack had known her since elementary. Zack and Cara both worked at the same place but had never met until I Abby introduced them.
Cara said: “Zack and I started chatting a bit and it went on from there. But I will say when Abby told me about him, he added me on Facebook. And when I saw his picture for the first time I just was just absolutely enamored of his smile, his face, his demeanor in just his photo! I could see the childlike joy that he had. And I was right. When we finally hung out (after a couple weeks of me canceling…) he became my best friend and I truly fell in love with him. Zack and I tell each other everything; I’ve never met a friend like him.”
Excuse me?! Such a sweet start to their forever love story.
Perfect Weather, Beautiful Day
Zack and Cara got married at The Willows Barn in New Boston, Michigan. It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony with an indoor reception later that evening. Their wedding was early fall, so we got a bit of the fall colors as the seasons were just starting to change. The weather was perfect and those Michigan greens were still poppin’! Overall, it was just a gorgeous day.
The girls got ready together at a cute Air BNB in Monroe. All of Cara’s bridesmaids wore black which felt very classic and timeless. The barn venue definitely has more of a modern rustic vibe, so the darker decor and colors complemented the venue well.
Love All Around
Cara had six bridesmaids and Zack had six groomsmen and let me tell you, their wedding party was so fun! They hyped Cara and Zack up ALL DAY LONG and got DOWN on the dance floor at the reception.
The bride and groom didn’t do a first look but instead did a private prayer on opposite sides of a door in the bridal suite. Cara and Zack are strong Christians and their faith was seamlessly integrated into their day. This private prayer they shared together before the ceremony was so sweet.
They also incorporated family into their wedding day which was nice. Cara did a first look with her dad and stepdad at the same time. It was definitely heartwarming to see their reactions to Cara in her dress! Also, Cara dedicated her bouquet of flowers to her mom which was really neat. Zack’s Grandpa officiated the wedding ceremony which made it extra special.
Beautiful Michigan Wedding Photos
It was such a beautiful, fun wedding to be apart of! Taking their photos was an absolute DREAM.
The golden hour photos that we got in near the end of the day were absolute perfection. They 100% live rent free in my head. Even at the very end of the night, we got some super cute photos of Cara and Zack that are giving alllll the editorial vibes.
Cheers to the happy couple, Zack and Cara! And shout-out to the incredible vendors I got to work with.
