Kate and Callum have the cutest love story! It was an honor to capture this season of it together this winter with a storytelling photoshoot. Kate and Callum met on a dating app in 2021 and instantly felt that they’d both finally met the one. They got engaged in 2023 and tied the knot in Elk Rapids in 2024. They’re currently in the process of buying a home near Elk Rapids in northern Michigan so they can start their lives together and one day have a family. How sweet is that!?

This photoshoot was absolutely amazing because it had so much space for creativity. Ultimately, we wanted to document their LOVE. Part of it was at an ice skating rink because Kate used to figure skate when she was younger. We also spent time walking around downtown Elk Rapids to get more of a town vibe. Overall, I wanted to document the feel of a date!

Kate said that “Elk Rapids is my hometown and a place that Cal loves enough to settle down in with me! I love that we are planning to start our future here and I get to show him the joys I felt as I grew up in town.”

For this photoshoot, Kate and Callum wanted to lean into more of a documentary style since they decided to go with more traditional/posed photos for their wedding. I love love LOVE capturing different parts of my clients’ stories.

Photoshoots don’t have to be super straight forward! These can be fun and creative in order to capture the lightheartedness of your relationship.
