Juliana and Zac tied the knot on a perfect summer day in Grand Blanc, Michigan. It was an HONOR to document their special day! They both love to golf, so their wedding and reception both took place at The Captain’s Club Golf Course. Simple decor, pretty yellow and pink bouquets of flowers, the bridesmaids wearing butter yellow gowns, and a dress code of warm pastels and florals made for such a beautiful summer wedding.
Juliana and Zac first met in college at a mutual friend’s birthday party. They were introduced to each other, exchanged numbers, but didn’t talk after. The following spring, Zac reached out wanting to take Juliana on a date. They had dinner plans but ended up talking for two solid hours in Zac’s kitchen before they even left for dinner. They hit it off immediately — and the rest is history!
When I first talked to Juliana during our discovery call, she told me Zac was the first guy who was straight forward with her about how he felt and what he wanted. She said, “I’m so in love with him I can’t stop smiling whenever I talk about him!”
…are you kidding me?! That’s when I knew I REALLY wanted to document their love story and wedding day. Their love is SO apparent! Juliana and Zac are such a great couple to be around. I am truly honored that they chose me to be a part of their wedding day!!!
Both of Juliana’s parents walked her down the aisle. Juliana and Zac opted for no first look, so the first time they saw each other was during the ceremony! They exchanged private vows later in the evening. There were flower girls and ring bearers, who were Juliana’s nieces and nephews.
One unique part of the day, was when Juliana iced the groomsmen. It was absolutely hilarious and so much fun! I’m LOVING this trend because it gets the bridal party hyped up and laughing, which I’m all for! Wedding days should be FUN and full of JOY. Anything that reflects the wedding party’s personality like this is a blast!!!
During the reception, Juliana and Zac had a choreographed dance together. The father/daughter dance was also choreographed. Juliana and her Dad started it off as if it was a normal dance — and then went into an upbeat dance. A highlight of the night, for sure!
There were several speeches at the reception, including the best man, Zac’s sister, the maid and matron of honor (Juliana’s sisters), and her Dad. Juliana also had an outfit change during the reception! Both dresses she wore during the day were gorgeous and true to her personality.
