This summer, I got to capture Madison and Adam’s beautiful northern Michigan wedding day! Madison and Adam met after college through one of Adam’s college roommates. They had a long distance relationship for quite some time while Adam lived in Chicago and Madison lived in the Detroit area. They’ve now made their home together in Grand Rapids.
The Best, Kindest Couple
Ahead of their wedding, we had a great engagement session together. I felt so at ease with them, like we had been friends for years! On their wedding day, that feeling totally made sense. They are both so kind and thoughtful, it made sense why everyone around them was so full of energy and showed them so much love.
Madison and Adam have such an energy to them that makes others feel so seen by them! It was an honor to document the love they have for each other and their family and friends!!!
Beautiful Summer Day
Madison and Adam tied the knot at Timberlee Hills in Traverse City. It was an outdoor ceremony with an indoor reception — but dancing during the reception was on the patio which was fun! Northern Michigan is such a stunning place to get married and the scenery totally speaks for itself.
Timberlee Hills is one of my favorite venues for this reason. The venue itself is so cozy! The decor was relatively minimal, but in the best way possible. The weather was PERFECT. We got a perfect summer day that wasn’t too hot (even with it being July)!
The wedding ceremony was beautiful. They decided not to do a first look, so they saw each other for the very first time during the ceremony. Madison and Adam described the moment by saying, “IT FELT LIKE A MOVIE!” because they timed her walking down the aisle perfectly.
Sweet Wedding Day Moments
Adam gave Madison a locket as a gift with a photo of her mother on her wedding day in it. Madison’s mom passed away so this was a very emotional moment between Adam and Madison. It even got me crying! Madison’s nephew was a big part of the day which was very sweet. And, one of the couple’s good friends got ordained so he could marry them!
At the reception, there were speeches by the father of the groom as well as the maid of honor and best man. The wedding party included three bridesmaids and three groomsmen and were SO fun! They had great energy and were so loving and kind all day. Also, they got DOWN on the dance floor and of course I always appreciate that! The bridesmaids were all in blue which was gorgeous.
The florals were EVERYTHING! Carriage House Floral does such an incredible job every single time. When I saw them on my vendor lists before the wedding, I just knew the florals were going to be STUNNING. And they absolutely were for Madison and Adam’s special day!
Madison and Adam — you two are such an incredible couple with so much love, positivity, and kindness that’s evident to all those around you. Here’s to a lifetime of love and joy together!
