I had the opportunity to capture this lovely couple’s intimate wedding day and it was one for the books! Katie’s from Charlevoix and Patrick’s from Birmingham, but they met in college at the University of Michigan. Katie was actually supposed to be the wingwoman on Patrick’s date with someone else, but Patrick and Katie were the ones who ended up hitting it off instead!
However, over the years they lost contact a bit until they both happened to move to Chicago at the same time, where they reconnected. They’ve been together for five and a half years now and got engaged in downtown Charlevoix.
Beautiful Outdoor Ceremony and Reception
Katie and Patrick tied the knot in a ceremony at The Foxglove Farm in northern Michigan. Which, side note, I cannot recommend this venue enough! WOW, it’s just so stunning. Katie and Patrick’s wedding decor was minimal, but it worked because the venue’s scenery spoke for itself.
The couple added some simple, bright florals which was really all that was needed to spruce up the venue and set it up well for intimate wedding and dinner party vibes. Overall, their main goal was just to have a really great party alongside loved ones for their wedding, and they pulled it off perfectly.
All About Connection
Katie and Patrick were so grounded and authentic throughout the entire day. And those vibes shine in the wedding film we created together!!!
They didn’t get caught up in the occasion needing to be grandiose or following the formalities of big decorations, matching outfits for the wedding party, or even cutting a wedding cake. Katie and Patrick prioritized deep and intentional connection.
They simply focused on having a genuinely great night with the people that mean the most to them.
Lovely, Intimate Wedding
The bride and groom did a first look together before the ceremony. Katie’s father walked her down the aisle and got a bit emotional throughout the day which was super sweet. At the reception, there were several special dances and both fathers gave speeches as well as Katie’s maid of honor and Patrick’s best man.
It was honestly such a beautiful wedding at a beautiful venue with a beautiful couple. Katie and Patrick, thank you for including me in your intimate wedding together. Cheers to the bride and groom!
