Taylor and Austin’s winter wedding was one for the books! They’ve been together for seven years, but known each other even longer. Taylor danced with Austin’s sister back in high school — and Taylor always had a crush on Austin. The two began talking, and once they started, they just never stopped 🙂
Taylor is a photographer as well and, a few years ago, she entered one of my photoshoot giveaways. That’s when we first met and we’ve have been friends ever since. At this point, I’ve done several photoshoots with Taylor and Austin. It’s amazing to document their love story during the many stages of life. And of course, it was an HONOR to document their wedding day!
beautiful winter wedding
Taylor and Austin tied the knot at Pine Knob Mansion in Clarkston, Michigan. The venue was beautiful, classy, and simple. It turned out to be such a great setting for their day. It was wintertime and, if you know anything about Michigan winters, you know they can be freezing cold. Their wedding day was no different. It was cold and windy but we pushed through for some cutie photos! We even were able to capture such a beautiful glow from the sun!!!
meaningful moments
There were lots of special moments throughout the day that kept the family close and the vibes intimate. Taylor wore the veil and earrings from her mom’s wedding day. And, Taylor’s necklace was her aunt’s! To honor and remember the grandparents who had passed away, they set out teddy bears so they could be there in spirit.
Before the ceremony, the bride and groom did a first touch. They also read their vows to each other privately, which was emotional and beautiful. The bride did a first look with her brothers and dad, as well as a first look with her aunts, which was super sweet. During the ceremony, Taylor and Austin both lit separate candles then together combined the flames on one unity candle. It was a neat and symbolic part of the ceremony! Taylor also dedicated her bouquet to her mom.
fun, energetic reception
At the reception, there were several great speeches from the maid of honor, the best man, and the mother of the bride. The wedding party dressed in a really pretty navy blue! It was absolutely perfect for a winter wedding. They were all so much fun with such great energy! So many laughs throughout the entire day.
Taylor and Austin — it was a joy to capture this chapter of your love story! Congratulations to the bride and groom, and here’s to many more years of friendship, joy, laughs, and love!
